I’ve been having these radios for over five years, and never had a problem. It transmits and receives signal clear and when the volume is to maximum the voice doesn’t get disrupted. I took it to Disney World parks and they worked excellent. The only problem I had was that they were picking up signals from other cobra radios and I was constantly changing the channels. Also I contacted Cobra and they told me that all micro-talk radios from all models (older or newer models) are compatible in signal, just set the same channel and you are good to go. No wonder why I was picking up other signals. Some people complaint about the time delay in the VOX hand free, but they don’t know that it has to be designed that way to allow uninterrupted or not overlapping communication between two radios. OH YEAH! I saw these babies surfing Amazon and knew that I had to possess them. I was not going to lose Mom at the swap meet again. I think she tries to ditch me on purpose. That is what my therapist said as she laughed at me. Back to the radios, I got my Midland LXT380VP3 on rush order so I could practice and be proficient before another expedition of “ditch the weirdo” at the meet.

I retreated to my safe place to practice with them. My man cave in Mom’s basement. I’ve lived here for 31 years…. it is my warm cuddly blanket in this cold confusing world.
I had just put the batteries in ONE Midland LXT380VP3 and was preparing to load the second. A voice suddenly came over the ONLY one that was on. How is this possible? It was an angry and gruff voice. I decided to answer with a hello. The voice asked who I was and was very threatening. Then it hit me… like a man nurse at the psych ward… these must be extra terrestrials. What else could it possibly be? The range on the Midland LXT380VP3 must be incredible. I only had the batteries in one. It had to be.

I explained that I was human and lived on a planet called Earth. I asked where he was from. I heard some sort of muffled laughter and whispering. Then the alien voice said he needed some samples of earth beverages to take to the supreme ruler. He asked if I would leave 3 cases of beer on a corner… that was only 2 BLOCKS AWAY. I accidently wet my pants, thank goodness for adult diapers. Whose laughing now Mom..
I was going to make first contact. I pictured myself sitting in a circle of aliens, representing all mankind… like the Jedi Council. The aliens then burst my bubble, they were not ready to meet yet. Leave the beer and return home to await further instructions they said. I complied immediately.

Three days and no further instructions. I scanned all channels on my Midland LXT380VP3. Finally I found my alien contact. His gruff angry voice was music to my ears. I asked for further instructions. There was a long pause. They asked for beverages, sandwiches, and a personal item to explain humans to the supreme ruler. They asked for my wallet and to help fully explain the contents they asked for my PIN number. Absolutely I replied. I delivered within the hour.

I now sit in my man cave waiting by the radio for my pick up time. Won’t be long now. I will be wearing cool Battlestar Gallactica clothes and talking alien.. like spanish… only cooler. I hope I get a light sabre.
Thanks to these radios we will soon be hanging with other worlds. I hope I represent all mankind proudly.
I highly recommend the Midland LXT380VP3. Just don’t expect to be sitting on the Jedi council with me, the supreme ruler and I have already bonded.
